Maria Rodrigues' mother, Margarida, gave us a lovely lesson on the life of flowers from pollination, cultivation, distribution and maintenance.
We learned that most flowers we see at florists are imported from far away lands such as South Africa and Holland and are transported to Portugal in refrigerated trucks. We learned how to water and cut the stems of flowers so they survive better. Form 4 had lots of questions that were expertly answered.
To end the lesson, each student planted his own bean seed and was responsible for looking after it. We have a beautiful display in our classroom as a result of the lesson.
Thank you Margarida!
From all in Form 4
