Our LTR students completed a very successful unit about the Judicial System where they learnt the principles of justice and the procedures of the UK and Portuguese court systems in a very dynamic learning environment.
In order to appreciate the formality and legal etiquette involved, our students attended a court hearing in the Braga District court and witnessed the Public Prosecution bring a case against a defendant. They listened to the charges, the plea and the witnesses that were called. It was a day that they truly learned about the real world.
In order to consolidate this learning, our LTR students then participated in Internal Court Cases where teams of accusers and defendants battled against each other. Students excelled as reliable witnesses and convincing lawyers as proficient public speaking skills were very evident.
Congratulations to our winning team of António Aguiar, Matilde Mendes, Mariana Fertuzinhos and Alfredo Costa.
This unit was yet another demonstration of the value of LTR. We rest our case! |
