First basketball games of the season put Clibbers in the lead
On January 21st , 2017, the male B-boys went to Barcelos for the first game of the season. The matches were played against La Salle College and against André Soares School.
The following athletes were present throughout the games: 4 – Manuel Pereira 7 – Diogo Whang 15 – Ricardo Trocado 20 – Pascal Zhang 21 - Franck Zhang 23 – Gonçalo Milhão 27 – Santiago Pinho 30 – Bernardo Oliveira 55 – João Martins The first game was against La Salle College, a very well-played match, in which the opposing team was very similar to ours, but that our athletes were much better defensively and more effective. As it was the first basketball game for most of our athletes, they were very nervous, but with much desire to demonstrate what they knew and with an indisputable determination. CLIB won by 16-18, in which Santiago Pinho scored 4 points, Diogo Whang 8 points and Franck Zhang 6 points. The rest of the team didn´t score, but assisted and defended very well. The second game was against André Soares’s School, also a very similar team, but there were more athletes, who un-balanced our defense. But our little big players never lowered their arms and fought to the end, which was reflected in the final result 27 - 14. In this game Santiago Pinho scored 4 points, Ricardo Trocado 4 points, Diogo Whang 4 points, Bernardo Oliveira 2 points, Manuel Pereira 2 points and Franck Zhang 11 points (one of which was a triple). Again, the rest of the team did not score, but did the remaining tasks very successfully. At the end of these two games, we can summarize that they were very positive but we still have a lot to practice so we can improve and become better. The next game will be on February 5th, 2017 in the Lamaçães sports hall, against the La Salle College and also against the Escola Básica de Abação.
