LTR: From the Plant to the Plate
On the 28th October, our LTR students held a very colourful, energetic and educational Farmers' Market as culmination of our Sustainable Farming unit of work.
The purpose of this activity was for students to understand food sourcing, healthy diet and the resources that our planet provides. On show at the magnificent stands were the plants that our students have grown over the previous months and we were treated to wild mushrooms, cool courgettes, and lovely lettuce to name a few. To promote a healthy eating culture, the students made soups and snacks with the ingredients coming from their own harvest. Delicious! Additionally, our students were able to explain how to create a sustainable vegetable garden using their 3D models and thus increased their awareness of environmental matters. The event was a tremendous success and the LTR teachers would like to thank the students for their dedicated work and a special mention to parents who continue to support us.
